If forgiveness had a face, what would it look like?

Looking at forgiveness head on, I see a face looking back at me. It is almost like looking onto a mirror.

This face has no expression, yet within this non expression is the awareness of one who is wholly alert, wholly present, wholly humble and wholly soft. But the softness does not equate to weakness. The softness stands strong on a foundation of love, compassion, grace, humility, growth, and peace. It reminds me that in my softness I too can stand strong upon those attributes. I do not need to cower and hide. I do not need to defend or attack. I just need to stand straight and remain open and trust that there are forces beyond my comprehension working for all our greater good.

The face shines bright in an ethereal glow and offers the invitation to shed the darkness that binds me within the barbs of resentment, anger, bitterness, and fear.

The face is expressionless because it is in a state if acceptance. It is not happy or sad; it just is. It is light as a feather and solid as an oak tree.

It is forgiveness. It is in me. It is for me. It is in you. It is for you. I give. I receive. Will you?
