Today, our meeting read a story about a person who had to drive behind a slow moving truck and how we follow behind our Higher Power. HP goes before us, leading us and we follow.

I have searched for my Higher Power since day one.  Raised in an agnostic home, but always felt there was a Higher Power. I have spent decades considering myself a faithful follower, but upon entering the 12 Steps, I came to realize that I did not even know how to follow.  It was through the steps that I have learned to let HP lead me and I follow.  It is still a daily lesson of self will vs. Higher Power will and I must remain willing and teachable to HP guidance. I am no longer running the show.

(-This reminded me of a memory. I was in labor and in pain. We were driving fast to get to the hospital. A car passed us on the way and I thought to myself, “Wow, they must be getting to the hospital as well, if they are driving faster than us.”. Nope. They pulled into a Denny’s restaurant.)
