Writings of Recovery

Sitting outside at sunrise to meditate. Soft music surrounds me and I settle in. A shrill-repetitive-high pitch-birdsong invades my serenity. It became the only thing I could focus on. SO ANNOYING!! UGH!!

Higher Power whispers, ‘This is one of my creations. I made that bird and the song it sings. It is one of the many songs in this world.  Accept it and add it to your daily symphony.’ Soon, the birdsong mixed with the meditative music already playing through my headphones. Then, other birdsongs joined the chorus. My brain fought with it all.  Too much. Too many to listen to. Help me to embrace and appreciate them, Higher Power! 

Then Higher Power sings, ‘these birds are my loved ones. All those you are in relationship with are your loved ones, and mine as well. Sometimes, it is too hard to listen and to hear them all. I understand. When it gets too hard…just listen to Me. Seek my voice behind the noise. It is there. I am here.’
